The other night on a TikTok live, I was discussing one of problems in how we talk about Jupiter and Venus. It’s easy to talk about the benefit of Venus and Jupiter because they are so positive. Many people wait around for these transits and complain when ‘nothing major happens’. These planets don’t work from nothing. They support and confirm what we do. Like a math problem, 100 x 0 = 0. In non math terms? You gotta buy the lotta ticket if you want to win the lottery.
It’s easy to see how safe and easy the status quo is. Lord knows I’ve done it more than I should have. But, when I look back at the best parts of my life they all required risks. I wouldn’t have my community without jumping on a plane and moving to San Francisco. Even sharing my astrology terrified me at first. It all required a bit of a leap and a large dose of faith that it would work out.
An incredible opportunity to leap is here today, May 7th at 8:21 PM PT. It’s been awhile since we’ve had such a juicy Taurus moon. The last few years of Taurus new and full moons have been eclipses aka way more unstable and unpredictable to work with intentionally.
If there’s a new moon to work with, y’all this is it. We are past the eclipses. Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is here giving beautiful resources. Jupiter is here too, saying YES to whatever is happening here. Pesky Mars is off in Aries making no aspects which makes this even easier to work with. After some spicy astrology, here’s some comforting and supportive astrology (thank God!)
If you’re ready to make changes, this new moon wants to help. We’re going to get pushed a little bit further and faster with the Moon applying to Uranus. This can actually be a good thing— Taurus can prioritize comfort to their own detriment. In the shadow of student protests, I can’t help but think about the tension between our comforts and our values. Who gets to be at ease and who doesn’t? Are broken windows more important than peoples’ lives? Respectability politics are an easy way of dismissing real needs and horrifying violence continuing to unfold in Gaza.
We are all being asked to grow and push ourselves in some area of our lives. This astrology is pushing my 10th house of career and visibility. I’m dusting off my resume, looking at jobs again, and literally repositioning my LinkedIn for the next stage of my content design life (if you know someone who needs this kind of work, let’s chat!)
A part of me would like to change nothing. It would be lovely to just sleep in, read books, and keep my office door shut tight. But it’s not just bills that need to get paid. I also feel the call to try and see what happens. Change is in the air. The risk of staying still seems far higher than doing nothing at all.
We are looking at starting changes that can unfurl for the next 6 months. The question for each of us is: are we willing to stretch into it?
Reflections for Taurus New Moon
Here are a few questions I’m mulling on. I’d love to hear what these bring up for you. Feel free to reply to this email or comment on this post.
Where do you need to step out and break away?
What needs to change for you to enjoy deeper connection and harmony ?
If you could paint a picture of your life 6 months from now, what would it look like?
What opportunities and ease could open up for you if you took a step outside your comfort zone?
May you take the first or next step on your journey. And if you’re nervous, just know I’m right there with you.
